Wayne K. T. Mau : Partner

Wayne K. T. Mau joined the law firm in 1999 and is the partner in charge of the Creditor’s Rights and Business Law Group. His principal areas of practice include commercial litigation, bankruptcy, commercial transactions and financing and foreclosure and collection law. He represents a number of financial institutions and other clients in large, complex commercial cases in Hawaii, involving claims of lender liability, foreclosure, bankruptcy and real estate transactions in both the state and federal courts. He also represents clients in cases involving Chapters 7, 11 and 13 of the United States Bankruptcy Code involving debtors and creditors rights, including the bankruptcies of locally based airlines and real estate developers.
Mr. Mau is currently serving as a Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Trustee by the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Hawaii. He has also represented landowners in the acquisition and financing of the sale and purchase of real estate in Hawaii, including fee interest conversions.
After receiving his law degree, Mr. Mau served as a law clerk to the Honorable Walter M. Heen, Associate Judge of the Intermediate Court of Appeals, State of Hawaii from 1983 to 1984.
Mr. Mau is a current member of the Hawaii State Bar Association, the Real Property and Financing Services and Bankruptcy Law Sections of the Hawaii State Bar Association and is a member of the American Bar Association. Mr. Mau is also a former member of the Local Bankruptcy Rules Committee for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Hawaii.
